Render4tomorrow, an eco-friendly office

Updated: Apr 27, 2020

In this article, we are going to show you how we made Render4tomorrow an eco-friendly office. What do you do for the environment at the office? Let us know in the comments!

As architects, we all have heard about sustainability, green buildings and energy efficiency, but, are these principles consistent with our everyday work at the office?

In Render4tomorrow we are aware of how day-to-day human activities, pollution and over-exploitation of natural resources are affecting the health of our entire planet.

We decided to take action by undertaking some initiatives into our daily work with the aim of creating a better world. Today we’d like to share these actions with you!

Let's get started!

How to go green in the office

Go paperless

How to cut our environmental footprint? That was one of the question we first asked ourselves when we decided to go green.

We live in a constantly changing and increasingly technological world that brings us the opportunity to work with clients all around the globe without the need for meeting personally.

We bet on a high-quality online service in which all the communication is made by e-mail or phone. In our studio, communication is of crucial importance as we believe that the success of a project depends to a great extent on a good communication and an absolute understanding of client requirements.

Furthermore, we keep things digital whenever possible, even when it comes to reviewing digital comments on-screen, rather than printing them out.

These initiatives allow us to reduce paper usage to almost zero.

Bike to work!

There are funny alternatives to private car use. The bycicle is our favorite. In addition to being beneficial to the environment, it is also healthy and it gives us a bit dose of exercise almost without realizing it.

There are many options in the market when it comes to buying our bicycle but folded ones are our favorite! They are light-weight and you can bring them with you when public transport has to be used.

If you need to cover long distances to go to work, then you could consider buying an electric bycicle.

As you only need a bike, it is also the cheapest form of transport.

We are what we eat but, how do we bring food from home to office?

Our employees are given reusable lunch boxes to avoid using disposable ones. This is something within everyone reach that can help to generate the smallest possible quantity of waste.

And if we put these lunch boxes into a reusable cloth bag we are minimizing the impact of plastics on the environment in a very simple way.

Search the web, plant a tree

Have you ever heard about ECOSIA? It’s a free web search engine based in Berlin, Germany, which uses 80% of the profit they make to plant trees where they are needed most.

https://www.ecosia.org/

As of 14 June 2018, according to Ecosia over 30 million trees have been planted with its support. Doing this, they achieve development for the disadvantaged communities, reducing CO2, fertilizing soils and helping the conservation of the habitats of endangered species.

We already search in Ecosia, do you want to join us?

If you are already doing anything for the environment at the office, we would love to hear from you!
